We are now on month 4 of the single family home market going up. I don't think anyone saw this one coming in the housing market update or in real estate 2020. Mortgage applications are up 33% for single family homes and that's a very strong number for the housing market. ***The Federal Reserve*** Jerome Powell issued a new policy this week keeping the rate of inflation at 2%. Now everyone is worried about inflation, how it will affect the housing market and the other effects of inflation. Also just because the federal interest rate is low, does not mean your mortgage interest rate will be the same, banks have to make their money as well especially in the housing market. Personally I don't think inflation matters as much as we think it does. For the past few years, everyone has been talking about the fed interest rate and Ken Fisher talked about this recently in regards to inflation. Even during 08'-09' when the housing market crashed, $5 Trillion dollars lost, was not because of inflation. And the housing market crash is not caused because of inflation, it's because many lending institutions were over-leveraged. Now the big 3 banks are being propped up by "Mickey Mouse Money", artificial funds. We have not yet felt the effects of the liquidity trap or housing market crash. And why aren't people outraged other than the current riots? There is a lot of government programs protecting housing market.
